About the temple

Paatalaadri Narasimhar is the presiding deity and appears as ugra narasimhar with lakshmi in the chest, the conch, sudharsana chakra and abhayaa hastham in one hand. The Utsavar is known as Prahalada Varadar and has a maze in the hand. It is a cave temple believed to be built by the Pallavas. Giri Pradakshinam is popular among the devotees.


How to reach

The temple is around 46 kms from Chennai and just 100 mts away from the GST road on the left while coming from Chennai. By train Singaperumal koil station on the Chennai Beach - Chengelpet route is the nearest. The temple is around 1 km from the station and autos are available.

Specialty of the temple

Paathaladri Narasimhar has three eyes- the third being in the forehead. The priest opens and shows the third eye after every aarthi.

It is believed that if the devotee ties a piece of cloth from their clothes to the Azhinjal tree in the temple, their wishes for marriage and children would be fulfilled.
