Parathasarathy perumal kovil is among the 108 divyadesams of Sri Vaishnavas under the Tondai Naatu divyadesams. It is centrally located in Chennai city at Triplicane. The moolavar is known as Venkatakrishna and gives darshanam with sword in one hand in standing posture. Also in the sannadhi are Rukmini, elder brother Balaram, younger brother Satyaki, son Pradyumna and grandson Anirudha. Utsavar is known as Parthasarathy perumal. There are two prakarams and a five tier rajagopuram.
How to reach
The temple is very popular and easily accessible. Lot of buses ply from various parts of the city to Triplicane. If travelling by the local train, the nearest station is Thiruvellikeni.

Specialty of the temple
This is the only temple among divyadesams where Lord Krishna gives darshanam with the entire family and three generations.
Since seven sages or saptha rishis performed thavam/thapas here, the place is also known as Brindaranvasthalam or Panja veerathalam.
Thirumazhisai azhwar is said to have met Poigai azhwar, Pei azhwar and Bhutham azhwar, the first three among alwars at this place.
There is a mark on the utsava moorthy face that is said to be that from the strike received from Bhishma’s arrows intended for Arjuna.
The temple is considered to be the second Tirupathi.

The temple pond is known as Kairavini saras pushkarni or Allikeni theertham since lots of Alli flowers are found in the temple pond. The Vimanam is found of five nillays namely ananda, pushpaka, thaivagai, pranava and sesha vimanam with seven kalasams.

The temple is open in the mornings from 6.30 am to 1.00 pm and in the evenings from 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
